Causes of common problems in precision CNC machining and improvement methods

The cause of the problem:

1. Inaccurate during manual operation by the operator

2. There are burrs around the mold

3. The center rod is magnetic

4. The four sides of the mold are not vertical

Improve methods:

1. Manual operation must be carefully checked repeatedly, as much as possible at the same point and the same height.

2. Use a stone or file to remove the burr around the mold, and then wipe it with a rag.

3. Demagnetize the centrifugal rod before dividing the mold. (Ceramic centrifugal rod or other can be used.)

4. Calibrate and check whether the four sides of the mold are vertical (the verticality error needs to be checked with the fitter)

Causes of poor surface accuracy:

1. Unreasonable cutting parameters, rough surface of workpiece surface

2. The cutting edge of the tool is not sharp

3. The tool clamping is too long, and the cutting edge is too long

4. Chip removal, air blowing, and poor oil flushing

5. Program the cutting method, (you can consider walking milling as far as possible)

6. Precision CNC machining workpiece has burrs

Improve methods:

1. Cutting parameters, tolerances, allowances, and speed feed settings should be reasonable

2. The tool requires the operator to check from time to time and change it from time to time.

3. The operator is required to clamp as short as possible when clamping the tool, and the blade should not be too long to avoid emptying

4. For the cutting of flat knife, R knife, round nose knife, the speed feed setting should be reasonable

5. The workpiece has burrs: it is directly related to our machine tools, cutting tools, and cutting methods. We must understand the performance of the machine tools and repair the burrs

Causes of chattering:

1.Feed and cutting speed is too fast

2.Insufficient rigidity (machine tool and tool holder)

3. Back angle is too large

Improve methods:

1. Correction of precision CNC machining feed and cutting speed

2. Use better machine tools and tool holders or change cutting conditions

3. Change to a smaller rake angle and machine the edge band (grind the blade with oilstone once)

Causes of Workpiece Wear

1. Machine speed is too fast

2. Hardened material

3. Chip adhesion

4.Improper feed speed (too low)

5.Inappropriate cutting angle

6. The back angle of the cutter is too small

Improve methods:

1. Slow down and add enough coolant

2. Use advanced tools and tool materials to increase surface treatment

3. Change the feed rate, chip size or clean the chip with cooling oil or air gun

4. Increase the feed rate of precision CNC machining, try down milling

5. Change to the appropriate cutting angle

6. Change to a larger back angle
