Gear teeth must transmit torque and bear loads such as bending and impact during transmission. After a period of use, the gear teeth will also experience tooth surface wear, tooth surface pitting, surface occlusion, and plastic deformation of the tooth surface, which will cause loss of accuracy, and produce vibration and noise failures.
