According to the role played by each part in the mold, the injection mold can generally be subdivided into the following basic components.
1. Molded parts Molded parts are composed of core and die. The core forms the inner surface of the product, and the concave mold forms the outer surface shape of the product. After closing the mold, the core and cavity constitute the cavity of the mold. According to process and manufacturing requirements, sometimes the core and die are combined by several pieces, and sometimes they are made as a whole, and inserts are only used for parts that are easily damaged and difficult to process.
2. Pouring system
The pouring system is also called the runner system. It is a set of feed channels that lead the plastic melt from the nozzle of the injection machine to the cavity. It is usually composed of a main runner, a runner, a gate and a cold material cavity. It is directly related to the molding quality and production efficiency of plastic products.
3, guide parts
In order to ensure that the movable mold and the fixed mold can be accurately aligned when the mold is closed, a guide part must be provided in the mold. In the injection mold, four sets of guide posts and guide sleeves are usually used to form a guide. Sometimes, it is necessary to set mutually coincident inner and outer cones on the movable mold and the fixed mold to assist positioning.
4, the launch agency
During the mold opening process, an ejection mechanism is required to push or pull out the plastic products and the aggregates in the runner. Push out the fixed plate and push plate to clamp the push rod. A reset rod is generally fixed in the push rod, and the reset rod resets the push plate when the moving and fixed molds are closed.
5, temperature control system
In order to meet the mold temperature requirements of the injection process, a temperature adjustment system is required to adjust the mold temperature. For injection molds for thermoplastics, a cooling system is mainly designed to cool the mold. The common method of mold cooling is to open a cooling water channel in the mold, and use the circulating cooling water to take away the heat of the mold; the heating of the mold can use the cooling water channel hot water or steam, and also install electricity in and around the mold. Heating element.
6, exhaust slot
The exhaust groove is used to fully exhaust the gas in the cavity during the molding process. The common method is to open exhaust grooves at the parting surface.
7, side core pulling mechanism
Some plastic products with undercuts or side holes must be parted laterally before being pushed out. After the lateral cores are pulled out, they can be demolded smoothly. At this time, a side core pulling mechanism is required in the mold.
