How to determine the gap of metal tensile mold

The gap of the metal drawing die refers to the gap between the edge of the metal drawing die and the edge of the metal drawing die. The effect of the blanking gap on the blanking force is that the smaller the gap, the compressive stress in the deformation zone. The larger the composition, the smaller the tensile stress component, the greater the deformation resistance of the material, and the larger the punching force. Conversely, the larger the gap, the greater the tensile stress component in the deformation zone, the lower the deformation resistance, and the smaller the punching force. So how should we determine the gap?

The selection of the gap of the metal stretching die should make the blanking achieve better cross-section quality, higher dimensional accuracy, and smaller punching force, which usually has a longer life of the metal stretching die. The reasonable clearance of the metal tensile mold refers to a range of values, the maximum reasonable clearance and the minimum reasonable clearance. The determination of the gap of the metal tensile mold is to consider the influence of the gap on the punching force, the impact of the mold life, the influence of the quality of the section, etc., and choose an appropriate gap range as the reasonable gap of the metal tensile mold. The upper limit is the maximum reasonable gap, and the lower limit is the minimum reasonable gap, that is, the reasonable gap refers to a range value. When designing the metal stretching mold in its body, it can be carried out according to the specific requirements of the workpiece and production. When the quality of the section of the workpiece is not strictly required, in order to improve the life of the metal stretching die and reduce the punching force, a larger gap value can be selected. When the workpiece section quality and manufacturing tolerances are high, a smaller gap value should be selected.

The standard for the determination of metal tensile molds needs to pay attention to the above points. The main factors affecting the gap value are the material properties and material thickness. The harder or thicker the material, the larger the gap value.
